Jeff Acerson reappointed to Utah Transit Authority board of trustees

SALT LAKE CITY (Nov. 20, 2024) — Jeff Acerson was confirmed today by the Utah State Senate as a member of the Utah Transit Authority board of trustees for a second four-year term, expiring on Nov. 1, 2028. Trustee Acerson will continue in his role on the board representing Tooele and Utah Counties.

"A strong board of trustees includes a team of experienced leaders with unique viewpoints and a passion for the local issues affecting their constituents," said Carlton Christensen, UTA board chair. “UTA is fortunate to have Jeff Acerson continue as an integral part of the UTA board of trustees as we continue our commitment to innovative transportation solutions for the people of Utah."

Acerson joined the Utah Transit Authority on Dec. 2, 2020, as a fulltime trustee after serving on several UTA board and oversight positions. Acerson has an extensive track record of public service including 21 years with Lindon City as a member of the City Council from 1998 to 2005 and 2012 to 2014, and as mayor from 2005 to 2007 and again from 2014 to 2021. He chaired the Utah Governor’s Coalition for Year 2000 Preparedness, served as president of the Utah Jazz 100 Club, and worked with the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics and Paralympics. In addition to his years of service for Lindon City and UTA, Trustee Acerson has taught leadership development courses as an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University.
